You won't see many Ice lake laptops in 2020. Poor yields means it'll be mostly comet lake and rocket lake

Yep. Another SKU they make a big PR fuss about but you ~cant actually buy.

The salesmen will do all possible to steer you to a 14nm laptop - bet on it.

Hmmm, Ice Lake lacks vPro resulting many flagship business models sticking to Comet Lake, this might be the reason.

How. If by competitive you mean the 4c/8t i7 10G7's barely competes with the 6c/6t Ryzen 5 4500U then sure. Not to mention the worse yields and availability that come with Intel's 10nm.

Until AMD's iGPUs have something like Intel's GVT-g, AMD is unfortunately dead to me.

So happy for AMDs comeback, i remember my old tricore setup that was bios unlockable to four cores.

Frustrating to see the 45W parts aren't shipping without GPUs. I'd love to see a model such as the Dell XPS 15 with a 45W CPU part and no dGPU. Navi video decoder is comparable to a dGPU anyway and the higher TDP CPU is useful for development.

That is a good point. They slashed the graphics CUs, why not slash all the way down to zero?

I'm more interested in the 15W TDP chips anyway, especially 4800U.

He is asking for laptops that use very decent AMD iGPU instead of dGPU. And I completelly agree- I also want an ultraportable with 3550H at 45W, but no such model was released for RR/Picasso (just launched Lenovo model has the H-series APU, but they configured it down to cTDP of ~25W). We'll see, if anything ultraportable at 45W comes out with these new Renoir series.
