Final Words

We should be getting the first hints of how the graphics market in 2001 is going to stack up in the next few months.  The first shipment of DirectX 8 parts from the top three manufacturers, 3dfx, ATI and NVIDIA, will all hit the streets at around the same time which will make deciding between the three solutions much quicker than we are used to when product releases are more staggered.

The CPU industry has been getting very interesting over the past few months and will definitely be a very competitive world next year, and for the first time in over a year, we’ll be able to say the same about the graphics chip industry as well.
