I didn't mean to be such a tease with that last line of my previous blog, I just needed to end the blog so I could focus on the phone call I was in the middle of :)
There wasn't anything special going on in the NV meeting (there was another NVIDIA meeting earlier today that was more special), the phone call was to cover two issues. The first was this issue with dying GeForce 6800 Ultra cards; at this point we've had one PCI Express NV45 and one AGP 6800 Ultra completely die on us. We've also had one 6800 show up at our doorstep DOA, not to mention two other GeForce 6 cards that have been acting up today. As long as there are no issues with cards that you all have bought, I'm happy, otherwise this is a problem. I have no idea what's causing it but it's something that we are paying attention to.
The next issue was in reference to NV40's Video Processor. I have been waiting for codecs and drivers to test the video processor ever since NV40's release and to this day have not received anything - and it's not due to my lack of trying. I've been hounding NVIDIA every week since the chip's release to no avail. Supposedly I've got a meeting next week to get an update on the situation, needless to say it's frustrating.
I'll keep you posted on what happens. I've got more meetings tonight and if I'm lucky I may go out with a few friends to see Bourne Supremacy, we'll see.

What flagrant booty licking! Especially the anonymous guy that spent like an hour writing his post.Ignoring people like myself is probably the best thing you could do, but being at the genius level of intelligence all of you posses it's obvious that some have a bone to pick just like the next guy.

I like the grocery store employee thing though..that was very creative and shows you either go to the grocery store with your mom, or you're wife sends/drags you there quite often.

Just an update to my previous post - EVGA has been very responsive to my problems, they're going to have me try a few more things and then they said they'd replace the product. The tech support guy said that when I called back to make sure the tech rep understood I had an ULTRA, this to me indicates perhaps they've been having more than their normal share of problems, totally speculative, of course.My GF Ultra has problems - Sunday, August 8, 2004 - link
My Evga GF Ultra 6800 does every legacy benchmark fine (I tried 3dmark 2000, 2001, 2003) but consistantly hangs or corrupts the screen after a few doom3 timedemos. This is stock clocks, I put the MB (MSI K8tNeo, Athlon 64 3400) at its most conservative settings, using Crucial Ballistix, so good memory, have a 550w power supply, etc. Again, I hope I'm just the unlucky guy that has to RMA his and get another but it's disquieting to see Annnand having issues also.at80eighty - Saturday, August 7, 2004 - link
