Apple just announced the iPhone 5S.

The chassis remains similar to the iPhone 5, although it's now available in three finishes: silver, gold and space grey. The latter replaces the previous black iPhone 5. The display remains unchanged from the iPhone 5, but internally there are some big improvements.

The iPhone 5S features a new 8MP rear facing camera with 15% larger sensor area (1.5µm pixels vs 1.4µm). There's a brand new 64-bit A7 SoC, featuring an updated Swift architecture. Apple is promising up to 2x the CPU performance and up to 2x the GPU performance of the iPhone 5.

The home button is replaced with Apple's new Touch ID fingerprint sensor, with support built in to iOS 7.

Apple promises the same if not better battery life from the iPhone 5S compared to the iPhone 5.

The 5S will be available starting on September 20th.

Because existing NFC is a dead end technology. NFC use cases will be supported by BLE and 802.11ah.

Anandtech is so obviously biased lately it's ridiculous - at least 10 articles about new iphone on 1st day, yet there is ONE "article" about Samsung Note 3 in 6 days and S4 only has Part 1 of the review... ZERO articles about Sony Experia Z1 or Experia Z Ultra, LG G Pad ??? This used to be the site I go to religiously every day to read and learn about new stuff about everything, non-biased, now ? Type in Sony in search results and in 3rd place is a review of MacBook Air??? I don't mind reading articles about Apple products now and then, but this is becoming just another Apple-centric site.

Regarding the "Apple-centric site" jab...the level of commentary reflects the sales as far as I see. Anandtech is one of the few sites that you can go to for the details on tech.

I'm seriously excited about MS buying Nokia and building a solid competitor to the iPhone; I'm looking at the Nokia 1020 for the camera ability but still wanting the iPhones' capabilities. Hopefully MS does great things with mobile; it's their next huge market for the taking.

So, S4 or Note phones or Android phones for the matter, are not selling?? The last time I heard, android has the majority of the market.
Yes, Anandtech is one of the few sites that you can get details on the tech, but I would like to get those same details on other phones as well. Unfinished s4 review and barely a mention of Note 3, 2 of the flagship android phones, don't cut it.
I'm not an android fanboy. I also hope that MS steps up and becomes a real competitor to the other OSs. Competition is only good. But what iphone's capabilities don't WP phones have except for apps?
