The Intel Core i7-12700K and Core i5-12600K Review: High Performance For the Mid-Range

Final Fantasy 14
Final Fantasy 15
World of Tanks
Borderlands 3
Far Cry 5
Gears Tactics
Grand Theft Auto V
Strange Brigade (DirectX 12)
Strange Brigade (Vulkan)
The Core i7 and Core i5 performed well across the majority of our tests, although they ran noticeably slower in Strange Brigade. This was only the case when testing 4K, but in every other title we tested at 4K resolutions, performance was competitive.

Need opinions:Should I go for a Surface Pro X SQ1, 128GB/8GB for $700 over a Surface Pro 7+ Core i5, 128GB/8GB for $800?
I won't be using either for gaming...other than what's available in the Windows Marketplace.
The Pro X allows for upgrading the storage. Don't know if the Pro 7+ allows that.

No idea. I'd read through every review of the X you can find and see if it sounds like it'll fit your needs. Running Windows on an ARM-based CPU still sounds a little risky, but maybe it'll pay off in better battery life? Just a guess.Good luck with your decision.

2-3% better on average then a Ryzen 5600X for twice the power consumption? Does not seem high performance for me.
