Performance
ASUS boards traditionally
perform at the top of the pack, and the CUSL2 is no different.

Price
ASUS has traditionally
priced their boards slightly above that of comparable boards, but it
has traditionally been justified by higher quality components. The i815E
chipset, thanks to its integrated graphics, boosts the price even more
relative to motherboards based on other chipsets.

The name ASUS has
always been associated with clearly superior quality not only in their
selection of components, but in the quality of the finished product
as well. The CUSL2 is no exception - are we beginning to see a pattern
here?

Features
The CUSL2 throws
in everything but the kitchen sink. Of course we have all the features
of Intel's i815E chipset, including AGP 4X, Ultra ATA/100. But ASUS
has taken it to the extreme with 6 PCI slots, 2 CNR slots, a total of
7 USB ports, AGP Pro 50, and just about every tweaking option one could
ask for.

Layout
Our only complaint
with the layout is the positioning of the ATX power connector behind
the Socket-370 interface. Otherwise, the CUSL2 follows the ATX specifications
closely and uses a compact PCB.

Availability
ASUS boards are
typically relatively easy to find among online, and even local, retailers.
Don't expect to find them at something like a Best Buy or Circuit City,
but many smaller local shops will have them. Besides, since it's so
easy to find online, there's always a fall back.

Documentation
& Software Bundle
The CUSL2 user's
manual was excellent and the bundled drivers included everything necessary
for proper setup of the board.
