I said it *rarely* bested the GTX 1080. There were indeed a couple games, although one was using Vega's Rapid Packed Math feature. I think it came out at the end of last year... perhaps it was an installment in the Battlefield franchise?

Time is irrelevant for me, I'm immortal :)

Turing is the same lineup than Pascal, just with different sku. The only difference is the 2080 TI... that's it...

So what is your point fanboy?

Ryan - Can you clarify whether or not the number of shaders per CU stays the same?

If I'm understanding this right, Navi is 2 x SIMD-32 per CU instead of 4 x SIMD-16 per CU for earlier GCN.

There are 64 shaders per CU, organized as 2 32-wide SIMDs. So your understanding is correct.

How does the Navi architecture compare to the Vega II on the new Mac Pros?
  • extide - Monday, June 10, 2019 - link

Vega II is just Vega 20, ie Radeon VII. Navi is next gen compared to that.

Don't stress, dear Mac user. Vega Pro II is faster. Eventually, I'm sure AMD will release a Navi Pro that will replace the Radeon 580 Pro currently set to ship in the Mac Pro base config.

Double the price of Polaris. Thanks AMD!
