DIVX 5.1.1 Encoding

This is another benchmark in which the large cache of the EE really helps out. Prescott does a good job of keeping up with the Northwood processors here, and as usualy, Intel's line of processors outperform AMDs when it comes to encoding. Also remember that the DivX 5.1.1 codec has support for the SSE3 instruction LDDQU, which makes the performance below a bit perplexing:

31 stage pipeline?!.....lol..guess those "30 stage pipelne" rumors were true.

These processors aren't bad at all. They performed on the same level as the Northwood versions. They just aren't worth the "premium" price tag that they will carry for now.

Looks like there wont be a better time to grab a Northwwod,
as I'm sure these puppies will keep dropping in price to make room for the Prescotts.
