Me hate study

I've got a midterm today (in ~3 hours to be precise) and it's going to be a hard one. It's not a humanities midterm, it's not a computer science midterm, nope it's an ECE466 midterm - an engineering midterm. Generally speaking, those are the worst. Not only is it an engineering midterm in a grad-level class, it is an engineering midterm given by a great (and difficult) professor. Now I've never had any experience with his exams but I'm fairly certain that it won't be fun. This is the class I'm writing a compiler for, it's not easy stuff.

Having a midterm in the middle of the day means that all classes prior to my midterm are spent studying for that midterm. So I'm sitting here in class, with my notes, preparing to study. No matter how hard you try not to, if you're a full time student, you are always spending the last minutes studying for any and all difficult exams. I'm just hoping that we don't have to actually do anything in this class other than sit and listen. Otherwise I'm screwed :)

I was up somewhat late last night talking about servers and such; this latest article should provide all the necessary ammunition to convince even the most hardheaded bosses that Opteron is the way to go. The competition is much closer than I expected in the 2-way space, but move to 4 processors and the picture becomes clear.

I picked up the iPod Mini when it came out for review but I'm thinking that a roundup of iPod Mini class MP3 players is necessary to truly evaluate the platform. My short review? It is the best iPod yet.

Hmm it appears that the professor is attempting to start class, that's my que to start studying :)

About the disappearing mouse cursor, instead of rebooting the whole computer you can try only rebooting the Finder. Amazing notion, but the desktop in OSX is only an application that can be relaunched. Your apps won't be affected.

As for the instability, Adium is probably to blame.

    THANKS!!!!
I have been trying to get IT to belive that the Opteron isn't a total POS. With HP offering servers and very good set of benchmarks, I feel we may start seeing them by fall.

    Thanks again!!
