Gamers Depot has reviewed the ASUS L5GA 3.2GHz P4 notebook computer which features an ATI 9600 Radeon Mobility graphics controller:
Make no mistakes about it; this laptop is intended to be a desktop replacement. It's equipped with state-of-the-art hardware like Intel's 3.2GHz P4, an ATI 128MB Radeon 9600 Mobility, 80 Gigabyte Hard drive, a DVD/CDR-W combo drive, and all the ports you'll need to do some serious computing. Keep in mind, however, you can change any and all of the configuration our review unit shipped with - it'll be completely custom-built to your wishes and budget.
The 15-inch display has a maximum resolution of 1440x1050 and presents a pretty decent, not perfect, picture quality. Even though it's nice and bright, we found the overall contrast to not be as good as we've seen from the likes of Dell or HP. Additionally, its limited resolution prevents you from playing games at 1600x1200 - something we know many flight-sim fans like to do.
ASUS has slapped ports almost all around - USB 2.0 - one on each front corner for quick access - Firewire, Audio Inputs/Outputs, Parallel, PS/2, modem and Fast Ethernet. Finally, there are two 32-bit PCMCIA slots as well; so you should never run out of connectivity with this laptop.
