Although the Adaptec Threadmark
2.0 benchmark is becoming quite old, as it is no longer officially supported
by Adaptec, we thought it would be interesting just to toss in the results to
give us a further comparison. Here, the WD Expert and IBM Deskstar 34 GXP once
again post similar scores, with the Seagate Barracuda taking a nosedive and
moving into 4th place. Now this was really quite surprising, due
to the fact that the Seagate Barracuda led the pack under ZD Winbench Disk transfer
tests, under Threadmark 2.0 it fell more than a full point from the competition.
