The third panel is the only one that requires a screwdriver to remove, as it isn't something you'll be removing too often. Beneath the frontmost panel you'll find the CD-ROM drive as well as get a glimpse of the IBM Deskstar 180GXP hard drive that's installed in the 1100H by default. Unfortunately, you have to remove quite a bit in order to get to that hard drive so you better hope it doesn't fail.

The difficult to access hard drive was by far our biggest complaint about the 1100H; we understand that the server isn't geared towards high-availability environments like web or database servers, however quick access to the one component in the server with the highest failure rate should be a requirement for all Opteron servers - regardless of their intended use.
