While Anand is away on a well-deserved vacation (ed: and as such isn’t around to stop us from doing this), we wanted to give The Boss a very special shout-out to wish him a happy 30th birthday.

For those of you familiar with our history, Anand has operated AnandTech since he was just 14 years old, which means he’s now been writing reviews (and breaking things) for half of his life. And while he has slowed down a bit with age – we understand that he sometimes sleeps now – his hard work still puts the rest of us (younger and older) to shame. But in all seriousness, even after having read AnandTech for most of those 15 years and worked for Anand for many of them, he continues to amaze us on a regular basis.

Of course they say that with age comes wisdom. On his 30th birthday it’s clear that Anand acquired both of those in spades – which is probably why he’s on vacation while we’re still working (ed: hey!).

Happy 30th birthday Anand!

But you've done so much in that time to spread information on this fantastic tech site.

AT is certainly the best Tech Site on the web, perhaps the best site on the web period. I've been an avid reader since the early days and it's been a great ride. I had the pleasure of meeting Anand at a Circuit City or one of the other now out of business brick and mortar PC stores in the greater Raliegh Durham area. I can say he as as nice in person as he is on the web, extremely polite and a true enthusiast. I remember having a short conversation with him about 3DFX Voodoo 3D cards versus at the time, the newly released Nvidia Riva 128. He sure has come a long way...

Happy Birthday Anand and here's to many more!

Wow, I just can't believe you're thirty now. I joined the site when I was sixteen and looking to build an overclocked P4 in 2000 or so... the IT manager at my school told me to go to Anandtech for help with my build! I can't believe you were only 18 at the time.

To this day when a new product launches, I will glance at reviews over at engadget etc., but I wait for the Anandtech review before I even think about purchasing. Thank you for over a decade of the most professional and thorough reviews. You deserve your success and I hope you had a great thirtieth!

I've been an AnandTech visitor for 8-9 years now, and it's been my "go to" website for tech news. As others have stated, in an era when "reviews" are just regurgitated spec sheets or press releases, Anand (and his team) have always created wonderfully detailed and technical reviews and articles. Anand has shown that he cares about the work he produces, and I consider this site to be the best site on the internet when it comes to SSD reviews. Keep up the great work!

I never realized Anand was a couple years younger than me.

That means Anand was probably a Freshman when I was reading Anadtech in 1997 during high school, choosing components for my first build :

(Tyan motherboard, Pentium II 233MHz, SCSI hard drives...)

Thanks for all the hard work Anand, your site is one of my all time favorites to visit!!!

    Best regards and happy wishes,
    -JD
