While Anand is away on a well-deserved vacation (ed: and as such isn’t around to stop us from doing this), we wanted to give The Boss a very special shout-out to wish him a happy 30th birthday.

For those of you familiar with our history, Anand has operated AnandTech since he was just 14 years old, which means he’s now been writing reviews (and breaking things) for half of his life. And while he has slowed down a bit with age – we understand that he sometimes sleeps now – his hard work still puts the rest of us (younger and older) to shame. But in all seriousness, even after having read AnandTech for most of those 15 years and worked for Anand for many of them, he continues to amaze us on a regular basis.

Of course they say that with age comes wisdom. On his 30th birthday it’s clear that Anand acquired both of those in spades – which is probably why he’s on vacation while we’re still working (ed: hey!).

Happy 30th birthday Anand!

    greetings from Hungary!

Your reviews are objective, kicking a** if needed, while others sites smell from "paid " reviews.

That is why I log on every day to get informed about the news.

never posted a comment here before, but signing up and posting a Happy Birthday is the least I can do for what you've given me- all the hundreds of excellent pieces of advise that come from thousands of hours of your hard work!

I have been coming to this site ever since it was hosted on GeoCities. Anand is the reason I am changing my career to one in programming and the strength to relocate from the UK to the US where the majority of my extended family live.

He showed the future and the possbilities that companies like Intel, Apple, Nvidia and AMD have brought and continue to bring.

Anandtech has been my homepage for over 10 years so Anand is a person I very much respect and admire.

Keep it up dude you have a loyal fan here!

I've had much fun reading the site over the last ~15 years, primarily for the fact that Anand (and those he's added over the years) has always found a way to consistently go above and beyond what the other tech review sites offer. I believe much of that difference is due to the fact that Anandtech truly qualifies as an enthusiast site - it's clear that Anand and staff truly enjoy the realm of computing and documenting its progress. I still remember reading through those early reviews to settle upon which motherboard and processor to get for my first build - oh how long ago that 233MHz K6 was.

Anyway, happy birthday Anand, and here's to hoping that you continue being a driving force in the industry for many years to come!

I usually never post on any website but will make an exception this time.

I have been following this site since the dawn of Internet in 1997(wasn't it earlier?)....anandtech has always been my source of information. I'm turning 30 myself in just two months so this is somewhat special. Ive been through it all. 3Dfx voodoo, the legendary celeron 300A@450, the Athlon era, the list goes on..Thanks Anand.

Most other sites are a joke compared. Just look at the latest MacBook retina reviews. Anand is in a different universe in terms of technical expertise, quality and testing. Sometimes I wonder if Anand is the only real pure tech journalist in existence who knows what he is talking about with the perfect mix of subjective and objective judgment,

    Oh and Happy Birthday!

There are several things that set Anand apart from other reviewers:

    - a knack for asking interesting questions or pointing out aspects of products that others did not notice or understand

    - a very good sense of where the industry as a whole is going

    - care for the people who will base a purchasing decisions on his advice ( see http://www.anandtech.com/show/3391 )

    - deep understanding of the way things work: Anand is smart, curious and has accumulated amazing knowledge over years of hard work

    - respect towards the people who create the things he reviews

    - willingness to delay publication of articles for days in order to raise their quality

    - and yes, contagious passion.

Happy birthday Anand. Thanks for everything.

whoa you are, like, four months older than me and yet fifty times more awesome.

while I was by myself in my room beating off at that age you were doing some kick-ass shit and amassing your brodacious talent.

then again, I'm probably way better at beating off than you are so I'll call it a draw

    have a good birthday, broheimdall

Happy Birthday Anand! I greatly prefer this website over many of the others on the web, and only go to others when I am very very bored.
