I had a great conversation with Microsoft today about a lot of my unanswered questions regarding Xbox 360. I was in meetings most of today so I didn't get much writing done, but hopefully I'll be able to get some work done on the plane.

I land in Taiwan at around 6AM Taiwan time, my first meeting is at 11AM and I go non-stop until 9PM. It's going to be a very long day :)

Information is already really starting to heat up in anticipation of Computex, there's so much I could say now, but it is going to have to wait. I'll give you all an update as soon as I get a free moment in Taipei.

and if it could possibly be compatible with OSX down the road, once it has been hacked. by that I mean, is it's hardware (X360 of course) fundamentally compatible with OSX, or is this PowerPC chip different?

really looking forward to your analysis. Could you also mention something about the expected noise level of both systems. With all that heat, is it going to be like the noise of pc's ...

Jerome at Jerome on Technology blog seems to be in agreement with much of Major Nelson’s findings and adds a few charts of his own.

He does however give the nod to the PS3 on general purpose performance and total memory bandwidth.

I'm as confused as ever. Anxious to see your evaluation Anand.

I would also love to see comments from developers producing works for both platforms like EA. That would sure be telling. I'm sure they have to be mum on that though.

Found a good article on xbox 360 architecture derived from Microsoft’s patent... wanted to get Anand's take on it, and see what he thinks... this sounds believable.
