ASUS Announces 6-inch FonePad Note

The FonePad Note is a 6-inch tablet complete with a 1080p Super IPS+ display, Atom Z2560 SoC (Clover Trail+), 2GB of RAM and a 3G modem with support for up to DC-HSPA+. As the Note suffix implies, the new 6-inch FonePad will come with a stylus.

Clover Trail+ is x86, so I don't see any reason Windows 8 couldn't run on it.In any case, as cosminmcm said, they should use a different SoC if the SoC is the problem.

Huh ?. Windows8 does not support phone mode!. You have to make do with Windows Phone 8 instead. That would be a risky move for Asus as they have been Android pioneer for a long time and WP8 is not really their target/interest.Note: Trying to compete with Samsung Galaxy Note II/III markets. But I see Atom as a weak point in this design.

Yeah, I wish this ran anything but Android. I'd love an...well, actual Windows Phone running real Windows. Or if this ran iOS even. Point being this would be pocketable, has nice hardware, and would make a nice phone, but Android....mmm....TareX - Monday, June 3, 2013 - link

is it a "real" stylus like the Samsung S-Pens, or just one of the many capacitive stylus with a sufficiently large conductive knob to simulate a finger?
