Apple: iOS 5.1 Available Today, Japanese Siri Included

Apple just announced that the long awaited iOS 5.1 update will be available today. In it, Apple is enabling support for a Japanese version of Siri. More updates from the event as they come in.

Installed this on my iPhone 4 last night and the difference over 5.0.1 is noticeable. I used to experience the occasional second or two of lag when tapping on one of my inboxes or unlocking my phone. Everything feels much snappier in 5.1. Even loading apps like 1Password is noticeably faster.The permanent camera button on the lock screen is a welcome addition. Also loving that you now swipe up rather than tap it to open the camera.
All in all, a worthwhile update.
