AMD & Compal Show Off 18mm Trinity Notebook

AMD's Trinity APU, due out near the middle of the year, will combine two Piledriver modules (four "cores") with an even beefier GPU. We've already laid out the general performance expectations for Trinity here, but today AMD showed off a ~18mm thick Trinity reference design built by Compal. Price points for Trinity systems like this will be sub $900 and AMD is promising better battery life than competing 17W designs (clearly a jab at Ultrabooks).

Finally we have a good platform for ultra thins coming from AMD! Uptil now I recommended people getting Sandy brigde ULV parts for 11-14" pc's. This really is good when the battery life is longer AND especially the graphics performance and capabilities are a lot better. I am not a fanboy of any sort seeing as all my PC's (except a brazos server) have Intel CPU's and I love these. For GPU's I mostly have AMD. However I would like one of these as ultra low power/mobility platforms above Intel's solutions!
