    Could just be holding it back? The 12 core doesn't need to use top tier chips to be made only 6 of the chips need to work and reach the desired clock speeds. And either way even without the 16 core chip their processors are faster than anything Intel has to show so why not. It is unfortunate but AMD is now in the position where they can hold back products because Intel can't produce.

    The military call it "the strategic initiative" & it is of paramount importance - it means victory is ~inevitable.

    All the enemy can do is respond to your moves. They cannot decide the battlegrounds by initiating offence.

    The nature of the 'battlefield' doesn't really matter, the same basic strategies still apply. If Intel strikes back now, AMD can immediately respond with whatever they're holding back.

    I also don't think that Lisa Su could have gotten AMD where it is today by thinking of their products as 'computer toys'.
