NVIDIA has announced via their website and Twitter feed that the company will be holding a special GeForce livestream this week. The event be broadcast on NVIDIA’s Twitch channel.

NVIDIA has not announced what the event will be for, or any content details, for that matter. However given that it’s a GeForce event and that NVIDIA has already announced their first Pascal architecture GPU for the HPC market, a similar consumer announcement does seem to be the most likely candidate.

LOL they're not really going with a 10xx series are they? It's time to ditch the Geforce or perhaps the GTX name and move to letters similar to their G, K, M, etc codename. Just call it the P80, P60, etc.

That's what the rumors say. But those rumors are older than this May 6th announcement rumor. I did previously see a rumor that NVIDIA would launch Pascal 2 weeks before Computex. Personally, I find it hard to believe NVIDIA would release full details a month before availability. I think either chips will be available long before June or this little stunt will just be a teaser of some sort. But we'll see, I guess.
