Anand, you and Derek made no mention about operating temperature in the article concerning prescott. Could you clear this up please as some people *cough*CRAMITPAL*cough* claim that the prescott runs brutally hot. I would assume not as it overclocked well but a little reassurance can't be a bad thing.

I thought quite a bit about how a faster FSB would play into all of this, as it is another way of ensuring a full pipeline. However that is assuming that the current 800MHz FSB isn't enough to feed these processors, which I don't believe is the case. Also if you look at Intel's roadmaps, it doesn't look like any of the 2004 CPUs will get anything faster than a 800MHz FSB. I thought that Intel might want to introduce the faster FSB earlier but it doesn't seem to be in the cards at this point, and they know their own architecture a lot better than we do so I'm assuming they made the best decision possible for the frequencies we'd see this year.
Anand... do you think Intel would prepone the FSB (1200) increase coming with Tejas, as this should be something that can push the Prescott over Northwood...
Awsome review Anand and Derek. Very thorough, and understandable. The only question I have is why add P4EE in benchmarks? No on in their right mind would consider the cpu even if it blows away competition.
But I needed this review to tell me "wait for Tejas".

SeraphSatiWe included the EE because we included the FX51, they are both in the same price class.
The Athlon 64 does not require registered memory and motherboards are affordable. You are thinking about the Athlon 64 FX.
