AMD Posts Catalyst 12.6 WHQL, 12.7 Beta

The first is Catalyst 12.6, the WHQL’d final version of the 12.6 beta at the start of the month. So this is virtually identical to the betas, save a few quick fixes. These are the first release drivers that only support AMD’s DX11 GPUs – since 12.5 was canceled, the latest driver for DX10 card owners continues be 12.4.
The second is Catalyst 12.7 beta, which we first saw with the launch of the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition earlier this month. Catalyst 12.7 introduces performance updates for several games and MSAA/SSAA support for Diablo 3, which comes as a bit of a surprise since it doesn’t appear to be part of a new driver branch.
AMD has a blog post up on their site covering both of these drivers, including a more complete lists of improvements.

I previously poked around when the 12.6 betas were released and never received a suitable answer. With the cancellation of 12.5, it's safe to assume that AMD's legacy plan continues on schedule, which means DX10 cards won't receive another driver update until AMD deems one necessary.dimmz - Sunday, July 1, 2012 - link

The 2000, 3000 and 4000 Series will see an updated driver mid July - Catalyst 12.6 and 12.7 do not support 2000,3000, 4000 Series

I don't know about the 12.6 but the 12.7 don't show the correct version number. Even if the driver has been installed correctly, it shows the last version installed (12.3 in my case). The driver is installed correctly, it's just that you have to go to regedit to change the 12.3 to 12.7 because the installer doesn't.It's just a aesthetics thing, but it got me thinking that in fact I still had the 12.3 instead of the 12.7.
Driver Sweeper doesn't clean that part of the registry, so if you don't want to edit the registry by hand, when you clean the AMD drivers, do it with Atiman Uninstaler.

I had the same issue for a while, my version number was stuck on 11.12 for a while. it seems that installing 12.6 fixed the issue, but i had updated twice since installing 11.12. this issue also seems to affect the auto updater for tAMD catalyst - if it says the version is on 11.12 even though you were on the latest, it will continue to say you were out of date.PS. if you play skyrim, DO NOT install the 12.7 beta. it fixed the yellow flickering issue but it screwed up the HUD. ill give AMD the benefit of the doubt because its a beta.

Stop excusing amd by calling me names.They can't find their own driver numbers in the registry. They SUCK.
This is an ongoing problem, as in has been occurring for years. They are so incapable they cannot fix it, or so negligent they care not to.

I'm using XFX HD5770 to drive two dvi port monitor and onboard HD4200 to drive my third monitor. When I updated to 12.6, the third monitor is not functioning, so I'm back to 12.4softdrinkviking - Monday, July 2, 2012 - link
I just want to say that I have always found, and still find, the AMD website to be a sh*t storm of awfulness.The search engine is totally ineffectual and they have too much arbitrary differentiation in their drop-down menus.
