mmm...400GB

Just got back from MD today; the wedding was beautiful and thus perfectly fitting for the couple. They're now off on their honeymoon and you all will be able to congratulate Steve personally next month when his first reviews go live.

I came home to a couple of packages, the more interesting one being the new Hitachi Deskstar 7K400, Hitachi's 400GB drive. I've got both SATA and PATA versions, so you'll see a review of that drive next week. This week I'll have a look at the Raptors in RAID to see the real world benefit of striping. I've also got a SATA Native Command Queuing piece in the works, which you may see debut with another review later this week.

Oh and we will have content up this weekend, be sure to check back Saturday as there will be a fairly large article going live then.

Take care.

This is out of place but I have to vent. Where are the weekly buying guides? They have turned into tri-weekly guides now. There hasn't been an overclocking guide in soooo long :(

    Thankyou.

Sounds excellent. I am looking forward to the NCQ write up. I know Seagate was supposed to be shipping their NCQ drives this month and the performance is supposed to be excellent :)

This is cool - you including 2 of the 80gb or 120gb WD special editions in RAID-0 in your review? I just might be getting that sorta setup at some point, and I was wondering how it might stack up against the raptors
