I ordered some 1K tags for my Nexus 4. The vendor now has info on their site that the tags will not work with Nexus 4 or Nexus 10. Something about the Broadcom controller not supporting NXP legacy tags. Reply
Well, that's kind of bad. Do you trust the vendor, or are you willing to buy a few tags just to find out? If the new stack and/or chip really marks a bifurcation of NFC it's something worth Anandtech looking into and explaining I think, especially if it goes beyond NFC tags into other NFC functions.Reply
NFC (Near Field Controller) NFC Controller Interface (NCI), I fail to see what's an ATM Machine there, it's the proper way of writing the sentence or referring to the NCI.
I was simply pointing that, like when we talk about an ATM Machine (or an LCD Display), talking about an NFC NCI is redundant, since the N from NCI already stands for NFC. You could have written "The NFC Controller Interface (NCI) [...]". It's no biggie. Reply
The C in NFC stands for Communication, not Controller. So NFC NCI would be Near Field Communication Near Field Communication Controller Interface.Reply
With the change of NFC code, might that complicate back porting this to existing devices? I assume since this interface is new, that it isn't in those phones/tablets.Reply

Isn't a "NFC NCI" the same as an "ATM Machine"? ;) ReplyDeath666Angel - Thursday, November 15, 2012 - link
Or LCD display, which gets confused a lot even on anandtech.com :D. ReplyBrian Klug - Friday, November 16, 2012 - link

I never thought I'd see an old MAW member on Anandtech. Small world, eh? Reply
