Yes, but considering they're still in Alpha with Gingerbread it will probably be a while, especially since no one really knows how hard it will be to port to ICS. Reply

The Cyanogen team is not that far behind. CyanogenMod 7 was first released early this year for Gingerbread. The last update was back in October with version 7.1. It's probably the final update for Gingerbread. I'm running it now on my Nook Color.

Work on CyanogenMod 9 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is well underway.

They mean Alpha for the TouchPad, which is right it is Alpha right now, but CM7 for other phones is pretty stable and working fine (except for brand new just released phones). Reply

My guess is the first to release outside of Samsung will be the modders of the world, since I doubt any of the companies who make the hardware can get it done before them :P Reply

So it seems it'll be at least 2 months more for the Nexus S. Reply

I think some modders will want to get it running a real Android, kind of jailbraking from Amazon. Reply
