    Looks like the LG Optimus 3D may be the best way to watch 3D content. One would only hope that Hollywood would start offering 3D content on the LG Optimus 3D as a gateway drug to getting people to buying 3D HDTVs. Reply

    I wish this 3D fad would just die already. Sales are poor, it's not real 3D, image quality suffers, theres health issues, and no one is interested. No one with more than single digit brain cell counts anyway. Reply

    I haven't had a chance to experience the 3D, but I think this is a catalyst.

    I like how the Optimus 3D is going to be larger; based on the picture, it looks like the screen is larger than the Optimus Black :) [finally]

    I don't like how the tablet is small. It's almost as big as the phone. Can someone please market a 8.5 x 11 screen?

    I hate how they market the Optimus 3D as having 4 Gb of ram! So many people are reporting it as 4 GB of memory, and I was just dying to own the phone with 4 GB of memory! Stop screwing around with nomenclature! It's bad enough 4G means nothing and that apparently 1 GB is equal to 1000 MB... we're not stupid! Your phone has 512 MB of ram! That's what you should be telling people. Within a few months we'll all own phones that have:

    128 Gb of storage
    4 Gb of ram
    Infinite contrast screens with 0ms gray to gray to gray response times
    Blazingly fast 4G speeds of 3 Mbps
    Expandable storage of up to 256 Gb
    ___ mm thin
    Magical magicness of magnificently magical magnificence
    PPI Retina equivalency when device is held ___ inches further from face, as in:
    "My Evo got a new firmware update, and now when I hold it 4' from my face it's impossible to see the pixels, it's just like having a Retina display!"

    Please, start telling it like it is, seriously.

    I definitely noticed that they're marketing it as 4 Gigabits instead of 512 Megabytes. I saw that too and converted. Oddly enough their other spec sheets list things in *bytes. Very puzzling.

    But it does have 4Gb of RAM.
    What you're complaining about is the fact that it doesn't have 4GB (or correctly, GiB) of RAM.

    b = bits
    B = bytes

    Yes, I'm very clear on the fact that the phone has 4Gb of RAM. The rest of the world isn't, which basically means using 4Gb instead of 512MB is basically a means of intentionally confusing the world into thinking your product is better when it is the same. They already have Dual-Channel going for them... why not focus on that rather than tricking a lot of people into thinking they have 4GB of RAM in a phone.

    Seriously, do a Google search right now on Specs Optimus 3D, and I think you'll find many websites are listing the Optimus 3D as having 4GB of RAM. Nobody talks about how many Gbs of RAM they have, so this is definitely a ploy. That's what upsets me.

    Also, bit of a patronizing comment there... not sure what about my post doesn't make it clear that I'm very aware of the difference between:

    b = bits
    B = bytes

    Finally:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabyte

    Wikipedia disagrees with you. GB or Gbyte(s). If you're part of a secret club that's all about using GiB, fine, but the rest of the world seems to agree that GB is where it's at. Since language is about clear communication, I'm going to file my use of GB under "Win" and move on.

    Sad to see LG going with two different directly competing SOC's. Normally the companies are already bad in providing timely updates. I wonder how long it will take to properly implement and optimize two different SOC's in a current phone lineup! Android updates, kernel updates, driver updates, all double the work.

    Wish they would focus on implementing and tuning/optimizing for one SOC instead of spreading themselves this thin....

    I'm very surprised you only compare Smartphones on CPU&GPU perfs, never mentionning the Mobile Network chip details, while you discuss Smartphone whose reason in life is 1st to communicate through these wireless networks accross the world.
    For me it's key to say what network chip is used for those who have it separate from CPU/GPU, and as this Androïd market left Snapdragons 1Ghz for everyone (that had everything integrated, hence easy to follow), and it moved to multicores, whose leaders (NVDIA, ...etc) do NOT integrate the network chip within the CPU/GPU chip, we need to know precisely :
    1/ What Frequency BANDs are adressed (2 x US main Bands only ? 2 x Europe Main bands only, both 4 US+Europe bands ? More ?). Like this us Europeans can figure out if this could be used world wide or is another US-restricted model. Ex the mistery on ATRIX 4G specs has been astonishing, till iFixit did a tear down and revealed the chip used.
    2/ The standards supported onver these frequency bands : GSM, CSMA, EVO.... And their various levels : 2G, 3G UMTS, HSPA, HSPA+ up to what speed : 7, 14, 21, 28, 42...Gbps, LTE..;etc.
    We need to know what phones are designed as WW phones and what phones are just local.
